BalloonHQ Temporary Tattoos

Balloon HQ temporary tattoo
Get your BalloonHQ temporary tattoos.

Before buttons, digital cameras, mouse pads, or luggage tags, (but after those silly groucho glasses), the hottest BalloonHQ give-away item was temporary tattoos! Happy balloon doggies in red or blue, ready to travel with you all the day long. They've been hiding all these years in a cool, dry place (back of my closet), just longing to find a balloon-loving companion.

Wouldn't you be thrilled to be branded as an ethusiastic BalloonHQ supporter, just like Don Caldwell? Aren't you excited to bring 10, or 50, or 100 of these little guys to your very own home? If so, let me know.

Send an email to Sheena Beaverson with your name, mailing address, and number of tattoos requested (in groups of 10). BalloonHQ will ship you your very own litter of temporary pets free of charge.

qyNote: All our tattoo doggies have found good homes. Almost 1,000 pets placed within just 20 days! Thanks for your interest, everyone. - S. Beaverson April 20, 2005.

BHQ Who's Who

There has been some confusion and some behind-the-scenes questioning about the Balloon HQ Who's Who that we recently announced. (See the Feb 2005 BHQ Ramblings for that announcement.)

One of the leading comments we received was that it seemed silly to give more awards and honors to the same people in the industry that have already received them. However, the BHQ Who's Who isn't about honoring people. It's about recording a balloon industry history. Those that have received awards and honors from a variety of organizations should appear in one easily searchable location, in much the same way that the tens of thousands of photos in the BHQ photo database are viewable by the world and searchable by members. The people and businesses that have received awards such as IBAC's Crystal, Balloon Camp's Dottie, Twist & Shout's David Grist Award, and Ralph Dewey's Balloon Excellence Awards (and probably many others) are among the people that should be included in one place for historical record. We'd also like to include people that haven't necessarily received awards but that have still been important in some way to the evolution of the industry.

Who will be selected?

You tell us who we need to add. There is a form on the Who's Who pages to contribute your own suggestions. The more information you can provide about someone, the sooner we can add them. Our editors will attempt to verify facts, but we're depending on you to provide us with a starting point. Using the photo database once again as an example, we couldn't possibly provide images of all of the photos everyone would ever want to see. It's the BHQ community that has been working so diligently on that for several years. Our hope is that all of you will once again step forward with information and suggestions for expanding this new database.

If you think you deserve to be listed, feel free to provide your own information. No one knows you as well as you. Don't worry about your ego looking too big. We won't tell anyone who made the suggestion. To make things as fair as possible, we're going to add the people that we hear about from multiple sources first so if you do suggest yourself, you'll only be helping us to get the right information if others agree that you belong.

Who are the editors that make final decisions?

Currently there is a small collection of volunteers, including a few BHQ columnists, long-time members, and other industry professionals. If you'd like to join the editorial team and have some time to work on a few entries, let us know. Editors review suggestions provided by others, research missing information, and help put suggested entries into a final, presentable form.

T Myers Magic

Tom (AKA the 'T' in T Myers Magic) is known most these days for running a large balloon distributorship that caters to balloon entertainers. Those that have been in the business for a while remember the years he spent on the road teaching classes and designing a line of balloon pumps that changed the way balloon entertainers work.

Tom also organized the first balloon entertainers convention. T & Jam 1999 brought together over 200 balloon artists from around the world, spurring some of the largest leaps in the balloon twisting.
