Balloon HQ is a community-driven web site for balloon industry hobbyists, professionals, manufacturers, service providers, event organizers, all. The heart of the whole thing is created by user-provided content, your thoughts and opinions and artistic expressions. It's our mission to provide you web-based tools to enable you to share and learn and grow.

February 2007 will mark the 15th anniversary of the very first post in our archives. To celebrate that milestone, we'd like to invite you all to make BHQ better. What can you do to add content, which is the true heart of BHQ?

Free to everyone:

Add yourself to the artist directory.

Start an intriguing thread on the email lists.

Link to BHQ from your web site.

Tell your friends and collegues about Balloon HQ.

Suggest a new tool or service we could provide.

Give feedback to columnists and photo publishers.

Tell our advertisers you find value in their support of BHQ!

Become a paid member, and:

Upload photos to build a portfolio small or large.

Augment your Artist Directory entry with your Logo or Photo.

Write a column, be it a one-time shot or a monthly feature.

Post a classified ad or upcoming event.

Review your photos, ensure they've got great keywords and category tags.

Mark, Larry and I truly appreciate contributions to BalloonHQ. This community is what you make of it. Please make the effort to contribute, as makes sense for you and what you do. Help ensure BHQ can continue (as a fun playground and also a viable business) in the future.

BHQ Artist Directory Enhancements

The first item listed above as "Free to everyone" is the ability to add yourself to the BHQ Artist Directory. There have been many testimonials posted to the e-mail forums on how the directory listing has brought people phone calls and work orders. We urge everyone to keep their Artist Directory listing up-to-date.

We've recently made some enhancements to the Artist Directory to expand our offering of Member Services. BHQ Member listings are now displayed as search results before non-member listings. Another enhancement is the small graphic indicator which has been added to show QBN members. As always, BHQ member subscribers have the option to create a portfolio of photographs to showcase their work.

We've always believed that the thing that made BHQ great was the openness we've had for everyone in the balloon community. For that reason, we do not have plans to change the ability for all artists to add themselves to the directory free-of-charge. However, we will continue to work to enhance the benefits of BHQ Membership, including changes to make member listings stand out even more.
