Balloons Around the World was a big hit in Kansas City

Balloons Around the World (BAW), 2003

This year's Balloons Around the World event took place on Wednesday, October 1, 2003. Participants from 13 countries and 46 US states joined together to joyfully showcase the art of balloon sculpture.

Faster BHQ Email

We want to update everyone on the situation with the BHQ mailing lists and delayed posts. As we continue our battle to filter out spam, email sent to both forums will be delayed for unforseeable periods of time. Typically, these delays will last from a few minutes to a few hours. However, on weekends and holidays (when there's less staff to babysit the system) delays could be longer. Your email will get through, but delays are unavoidable.

However, there is a solution for posting quickly. BHQ Members that post to either forum using the web email interface http://www.balloonhq.com/mail/ should not experience delays in sending posts to all list subscribers.

We're happy to say that September brought some lively discussion threads on both balloon forums.

Featured artist portfolio: Linda Hartin

Linda Hartin, aka Colors da Clown, had a lot of fun with her friends twisting balloons for the Huntington Nursing Home in Bellvue, Nebraska for Balloons Around the World. Linda's portfolio is filled with light-hearted balloon creations, including many holiday-oriented sculptures. A black cat and pumpkin, thanksgiving turkeys, Christmas costumes, and a dashing Valentine Guy make this portfolio a fun and timely place to visit.
