Not only does this hat look cool by itself, but it can also be used as part of a theme party or campaign. For example, at a corporate brain-storming session, each participate would have their hat printed with, "Acme has bright ideas". It would be a fun way to break the ice and get those ideas flowing. For Christian events it could be printed with, "Share the Light". For weight-loss groups have, "Eat Light", printed on them.
You will need a yellow 9" round balloon, a white #321 bee body balloon, a gray #160 balloon and two purple #260 balloons. And if you only make the light bulb you will need a black 5" round balloon.
Inflate the second purple #260 balloon fully except for about 5" and tie off the nozzle. Twist off two 10" bubbles. Cut and tie off the end and discard the excess balloon. Attach the nozzle knot to one of the 1" ear twists of the first blue balloon. Attach the other knot to the other 1" ear twist on the first purple balloon. Place the 1" nipple end bubble from the hat base toward the inside of the hat. This will make a pyramid hat shape.
To make the threads of the light bulb, fully inflate a gray #160 except for about 2" and tie off the nozzle. Twist off a 3/8" bubble and ear-twist it. Then twist off a 10" bubble and fold-twist the ends. Twist off a 3/8" bubble and another 10" bubble. Fold-twist the ends of the 10" bubble together. Twist off a 3/8" bubble and another 10" bubble. Fold-twist the ends of the 10" bubble together. Twist off another 3/8" bubble and ear twist it. Cut and discard the excess balloon. Shape the three loops to be round.
Tie the knot of the 9" balloon to the scrap piece of the #260 (which is sticking out of the top of the apple balloon) through the three gray loops of the light bulb threads.
