Reindeer Wand

Jeanine Von Essen

aka "HEY, Balloon Lady!"

My favorite holiday designs are fast, simple and cute. This month I wanted to share my newest holiday favorite.

image This Reindeer Wand uses one 6 inch Geo Blossom (I prefer green or red) one Mocha 260, one dark brown or black 160, a red water balloon, and a white water balloon (optional).
image Inflate the Geo and stretch the hole a bit.

Inflate the red water balloon to about 1 1/2 inches, or to just the spot where it is perfectly round.

image Inflate the mocha 260, leaving about 5 inches of tail.
image Place the nozzle of the water balloon on the nozzle of the mocha 260, and make a marriage twist, or tulip twist, about 1 1/2 inches deep.
image Twist a 2 inch bubble.
image Twist off a 5 inch bubble and fold to make a loop twist. Repeat for second ear.
image Make a small pinch twist behind the ears.
image Inflate the dark brown or black 160 about half way. You will not use it all.

Twist off a 2 inch bubble.

image Twist off a 3 inch bubble and fold to make a loop twist.

Make a very small pinch twist.

image Twist off a 3 inch bubble.

This is the first antler.

image Repeat in reverse for the second antler.
image Attach antlers to reindeer's head, just in front of the ears.
image Place reindeer into Geo "collar."

Draw on eyes to complete, or Use the white water balloon, split into two equal bubbles for eyes.

image

image Wrap the water balloon eyes into the joint behind the tulip twist, and draw in pupils.

Several of these placed in a vase makes a cute holiday bouquet.

Try it with a red Geo, and a green nose for variety, or different shades of browns with silver or gold antlers.

Happy Holidays from Jeanine and Family!
