CUPID'S ARROW

Magical Balloon Michael

Michael Philo

Final Product
It's that time again, time for red, white and pink Balloons, tons of 6" hearts, and of course the valentine imprints. This month I am going to share with you a ball and balloon game that I like to call "Cupids Arrow". You will need four 260s: Two red, one white and one pink or rose (or fuschia if you prefer Betallatex), and one superball.

Start by inflating the red 260s, leaving about two inches of tail on each, and tie them off. Make a 1" bubble, then a loop big enough for another 260 to go through, and then a 1" ear twist. Position the ear twist on top and the 1" bubble on the bottom so the loop is level with rest of the 260.

Step... Step...

Now make a 9 to 10 inch bubble followed by two 1" ear twists. Make another 9 to 10 inch bubble and this time make only one 1" ear twist.

Step... Step...

Put this balloon aside for a moment and grab the other red 260. Make another 1" bubble, then a loop big enough for a 260 to go through and then a 1" ear twist. Twist a 6 to 7 inch bubble and wrap that around the last ear twist that you made on the first red balloon. Next make a 9 to 10 inch bubble and wrap it around the two ear twists in the middle of the first red 260. (See photo below).

Step... Step...

Now make one more 9 to 10 inch bubble and cut off the rest of the balloon. Tie it and wrap the knot around the first loop in the first red 260. You may need to squeeze the air into the tail of the balloon instead of breaking it.

Step...

Now take the Rose 260 and fully inflate it leaving about 1" of a tail and tie the two ends together. Form a heart out of this loop.

Step... Step...

Wrap the heart into the two one inch ear twists in the center of the two red balloons.

Step... Step...

Now for the fun stuff. Fully inflate a clear 260, give it a good burp, and use whichever ball-putting method you prefer to put a ball inside this balloon. I use a T. Myers Ball Putter, and I like to put it in at the tail end so there is no knot left on the ball.

Step... Step...

After you have the ball in the balloon make a 6" bubble and pop it. Tie it off really tight against the balloon. Move down about an inch and tie four or five knots right on top of each other so you have 1 big bulky knot.

Step...

Run the knot end of the clear 260 thru the standing loop and wrap the knot around the ear twist at the bottom to secure it in place as shown below. Now run the clear thru the heart and thru the first loop that you made. I like to move the first ear twist under the loop so it pushes the loop up a little.

Step... Step...

Now all you have to do is hold the red balloons, pull back the bulky knot and shoot the ball thru the heart. Here are a few ideas for extras: Add a 6" heart of any color to the rose heart by wraping the knot into the two ear twists at the bottom. You can also add an inverted geo blossom of any color to the knot on the standing loop for the arrow head.

Step... Step...

Hope you all have enjoyed this idea and have learned something new and useful. Until next month, Happy Twisting!
