Bowling Hat

Michael Philo

Magical Balloon Michael

I made this hat at a local restaurant and a young twister asked me to show him how I made it, so I did and now I will show all of you.

This is based on Don Caldwell's Bowling Hat in Balloon Magic 42, but I've made some adjustments.

You will need:
1 11" Agate Blue any color but Blue or Black and White are the best for this hat.
2 Betallatex Doll Shapes (Any Color)
2 Blush 350s
2 White 646s (Not Needed).

Fully inflate the Blush 350s leaving a 3" tail and tie. Make a 2" ear twist in each of them. Inflate both Doll Shapes to look like bowling pins and tie them to the ear twist on the blush 350s. Wrap them around the person's head and twist them together. I stuffed one Doll Shape into a White 646, it makes it a little smaller but it also makes it white. The other one I left so that you can see what a difference the white 646 makes, both in shape and in color.

You can also wrap a uninflated red 350 around the pin for the red stripe but this is the quicker line work version that I'm showing here.

Wrap the rest of the 350s around the person's head and twist, make two loop twists or ear twists out of what's left. Now inflate the agate to the desired size and tie it to the ear twist you just made on the blush 350s. Draw on finger holes and your done.

Quick and simple.
