Materials:
At some point the long bubble may concave, I then just twist all the strings of bubbles and the long bubble together at the middle and it suddenly gets a certain toughness to it because it has another anchor point for the string of bubbles.
Add the pink balloon to one of the pinchtwist and continue to do the same thing.
Now for some amount of blood, do the same thing with the red 160s only make it more random. Instead of just going up and down between the two pinchtwists, go to the sides, use the string of bubbles as a new anchor point for small red pinchtwists so you can go vertical and horizontal and make some random lines.
You should get something like this (again this part is really just doodling...so it doesn't have to be exactly like this):
Now inflate the Diamond Clear 646 and stuff the brain into it. The brain is actually not connected to the clear balloon so if you tilt the alien his brains move inside. You should get this:
Marriage twist the 160 white balloon to them, make a pinch twist, bend the balloon, make a 4" bubble and another pinch twist. Those are the ones on the sides of the photo and they will be the ones comming from the bottom jaw.
As for the other 2 lime greens, marriage twist a white 160 to a lime green and make a pinch twist. Twist a bubble in the white for a teeth and twist another equal bubble. Break the white balloon and tie. Marriage twist the end of the white balloon to the fourth lime green 260. Make a pinch twist after the marriage twist. You should get the balloon construction that is in the center of the photo. Notice, 1 white 160 is more than enough to cover all the white parts here. Just break it and keep the air in it, tie it and use it again and so on.
Now in one of the balloons, make a small bubble, and another pinchtwist.
Make another small bubble and twist it with the pinch twsit on the other side of the mouth. Take the OTHER balloon and do a 3" bubble and twist it with the pinch twist at the other side of the mouth from it. You kind of get a 4 bubble roll body, but one of the bubbles has a pinchtwist at the middle of it. Make sure the one with the pinch twist in the middle is on the TOP of the 2 rows of 2 bubbles.
Now with both balloons, make a larger than 3" bubble and connect with the pinch twist at the other side of the mouth. Only one of them will go from above and the other from below.
So now we have like a six bubble roll body only the top and bottom bubbles are arched over the other ones and not really the same size as them. This creates the front of the face.
And here is the back view, notice that the pinchtwist in the middle of the 4 bubble rollthrough is on the top and behind the arched bubble on top of the 4 bubble rollthrough.
Take the time now to draw on some teeth on the mouth. It will be much more difficult later on when you have a lot of balloon traffic in front of the mouth. Now you can just move the lower jaw teeth and draw whatever you like. You are here:
Now, make a long bubble with both balloons and twist them together at the back of the head. Make a pinchtwist with one of the balloons and break and discard the rest of it. With the other balloon, make a small bubble and another pinchtwist. We don't need that balloon anymore so you can discard it as well.
Top view of where you should be:
Now, take the other lime green construction of the top teeth, make a bubble on each balloon and connect it to the side pinchtwists of the mouth (each balloon on a different side pinchtwist of course)
Make sure the new construction teeth are on the top. Here is a top view again:
In both sticking out balloons, make a 1.5" bubble followed by a pinchtwist.
In only ONE of the balloons, make a long bubble to match to connect to the top pinchtwist at the very back and back to the last pinchtwist of the other sticking out balloon.
Leave those balloons sticking out for the meantime while we do some other stuff that might be very difficult to do if we first finish with the lime green balloons.
Take the brain and attach it to the 4 bubble roll top bubble pinchtwist (good thing we made a pinchtwist there...). Make it tight.
Now inflate the 160 lime green and attach it at the top pinchtwist at the very back of the alien head.
Bring the brain downwards and tightly against the other bubbles and use the 160 to wrap around the brain and connect back to the same top pinchtwist at the very back of the head where the 160 started at.
Make sure the loop is tight enough to hold the brain down without having any free space below it.
Break the 160 but keep it. Push the air down through the balloon untill you have the same tail size at the beginning and at the end and twist it in the middle like this:
Twist it around the pinch twist we have in the 4 bubble roll mouth area. Where the brain is also twisted. This would be difficult to do from the bottom, that's why we left the top kind of open so you can thread each bubble on a different side of the brain and pull from below, make a few spins and you have it secure.
Here you can actually see the pinch twist that the balloon is connected to:
Now, remember the 2 sticking out lime green balloons? we can finish the job with them now.
Take the shorter one of them and pass it over to the same pinchtwist on the other side and twist. This bubble covers the gap that exist there and without it there would seem to be something very wrong with this head. This should be a longer and somewhat soft bubble to comfortabley squeesh into and fill the proper area.
Break off the now even shorter balloon and get rid of it. Break off the other longer lime green balloon but keep it inflated.
The lime green balloon you broke off and saved goes at the back, twisted in with the lower pinchtwist to become the neck. I did a pinchtwist at the beginning of the lime green balloon and twisted both pinchtwists together, but you can just tie it there if you like.
Now the 260 combined with the 2 bubbles of 160 are good enough as neck to hold this monstrous head.
You can guess what happens if you just use the 260 single bubble as a neck...
Now, inflate the 260 silver balloon and tie it to the top pinchtwist at the back of the head. Wrap it over the front of the brain and connect it back to the same point it started at. You got yourself some eye goggle thingy.
Side view:
Add a nose and eyes with markers and you got yourself an alien head:
And here is the full specimen:
Instead of putting a pen next to it for size comparisons, I put a barman next to it.
The legs are 646s and the body is a mix of 350s, 260s, 160s and a 5" round which was inspired by bodies I saw on Mark Verges portfolio on BHQ. (Check out the pirates!)
