What if you took the time once a week to say thanks for all they do?
Here is how you might start doing that. Take one day a week to go say thank-you to someone who can recommend your services. For example, make a balloon sculpture that is geared to the season of the year, or geared toward the reason that have done a great job for you. For a clerk who has done an outstanding job at a candy store, make a balloon Easter basket. If you appreciate your beautician, make a balloon hair dryer. For the cashier at a book shop, make a bookworm reading a book. Make sure it is given to the person in charge. The one who will be more likely to leave it on the counter for the rest of their world to see. Leave a few cards, maybe 5 to 8 of them, next to the sculpture.
Attach one of the cards to the sculpture so that when all of the loose cards have been taken, there will be one still there with the information. This marketing technique has worked well for me in obtaining referral jobs.
Here is a list of suggested occupations and places.
One of the places where I have had referrals is from my eye doctor's office. The girls there do not have kids but they know people who do. So when they see what I do with balloons, they often pass on a referral. Balloon artists can sometimes be an out of sight and out of mind type of industry. So why not say it with balloons and remind them that you are there to be of service to all the people that they know. It creates a sense of community and a sense of loyalty. So do something that others in your area are not doing, make yourself stand out. Make yourself memorable
