July 2001
Stacey Schmude
July, at last! Independence day! The Busy Season! And most important, my birthday! Happy July, everybody!
Julys here, and so is the busy season. Sometimes I feel bad just giving a little girl a plastic toy. So, Im not sure if anyone else has done this yet, if so, Sorry! Im just going to show you a new pattern that (I think) I made up. It involves Two bouncy balls (the smaller ones work best), a clear heart or round balloon, and a two-sixty.
Spread the heart or round with your middle and pointer fingers, and place the two bouncy balls into it. I suggest telling the kid (if theyre older) to put the balls in for you, but it IS possible to put them in without assistance. Then remove your fingers from the balloon while leaving the balls in there. Then inflate the balloon, but not too far, to give some strength to the sides.
Now, inflate the two-sixty about a foot. Start by making two ear twists on the knot end. Then, a hands-width bubble, then two more ear twists. Cut off the excess. Then, wrap the knot of the ball around one end, and position. This makes a dandy rattle, good for all ages! :o) Until next month
(If I survive that long
) keep on twisting!
