Supplies needed: 1-160 green, 1-160 mocha, 1-160 grey, 1 scrap mocha 260 at least 8 inches long.
For the elephant, inflate the gray 160 leaving a 5 1/2 inch tail. Slightly stretch balloon. Make a 3 1/2 inch bubble followed by a 2. pinch twist and 2 - 2 1/2 inch bubbles. Lock twist the 2 1/2 inch bubbles into the pinch twist.
Turn the 2 1/2 inch bubbles into loop twists.
Make a 1 1/2 inch bubble for the neck (pic 5) and 2 - 2 inch bubbles lock twisted for the front legs.
Make 2 . 2 inch bubbles and lock twist them. Make a third 2 inch bubble and roll it thru the first 2 making a 3 bubble bird body. (pic 8)
Make 2 more 2 inch bubbles for the back legs and lock twist them. Roll the remaining balloon (tail) through the back legs so they don.t come untwisted. Take the nozzle and twist it into the joint between the neck and the front legs, shape the trunk and make adjustments as needed.
Hold the legs together, and tie the scrap thru both feet. Set aside. You may make a loop in the scrap now, add artwork and leave it as it is for a simple bracelet, or continue and add the tree.
For the tree: Inflate the mocha 160 leaving a 3 1/2 inch tail. Make a 5 1/2 inch bubble and turn it into a loop twist. Repeat 5 more times to make a 6 petal flower. Leave the remainder balloon as the trunk of the tree.
Tie a knot in the end of the balloon.
To make the leaves on the tree, inflate the green 160 leaving a 1 inch tail. Stretch and soften the balloon. Tie the ends together then find the center and split into 2 equal bubbles. Bring the 2 bubbles together and twist to make 3 equal parts (pic 15)
Fold the 3 parts together like in picture 16, then push the ends in and twist together to make a 6 petal flower.
Tie the tree onto the leaves. Separate the leaves so they are no longer a flower shape. (pic 19).
Take the mocha scrap on the elephant and make a loop around the base of the tree to complete the wrist strap. Add artwork to complete.
With a little adjustment in the bubble sizes, these can be made into bigger sculptures very easily. The last picture displays elephants made with 160s, 260s, 350s and 646s.
