Geo Dragon

Supplies needed:

3-6" Geo Blossoms, 2-350s same color as blossoms, 3-260s same color as blossoms, 2-dark 350s (for around eyes), 3-160s whatever color (for wings and horns), 1-white 350 scrap, 1-black 260 scrap, 1-raisin (small knotted piece to use for a connection).

(1) Head: Invert 2 of the geo blossoms (turn them inside out) and inflate them until they form a soft heart shape.

(2)Take the first 350 (un-inflated) and pull it through the center loops on both inverted blossoms and pull them together as close as possible. (closer than shown in the picture)

(3) Inflate 1 side to 1.5" and make a pinch twist as close to the geo as possible.
(4) On the opposite end, cut off the tip and inflate to about 4". Make a 1.5" neck bubble and 2-1.5" neck pinch twists.

(5) This is what it should look like from the side when you are finished with the previous step.

(6) Body: Inflate the 3rd geo blossom fully...
(7) then let a little air out so that it is soft and squishy. You need a soft geo to get the arms and legs through the center.

image image

(8) Connect the nozzle of the body to the 2 neck pinch twists.
(9) This is what it will look like from the back.

(10) The Legs and Feet: Inflate the second 350 leaving about a 4" tail. Stretch well. Make a 1.5" heel pinch twist followed by a 6" bubble turned into a loop twist. **Soften the remaining balloon well for the next step.
(11) Thread the un-inflated (tip) end through the center of the geo blossom. Gently stretch the hole of the blossom first so that it will be easier to wedge the 350 through.

image image

(12) Pull the 350 through, measure how long you want the legs, and connect it back to the foot.
(13) Make a second foot by connecting the tip of the remaining balloon back to the first foot. Note that I only made 1 heel pinch twist. You can make 2 if you like, I just find that it doesn't stand as well with 2.
(14) This is what it will look like when you are finished with step #13.

(15) Arms and hands: Inflate the first 260 leaving about a 5" tail. Make a 1.5" pinch twist followed by a 5.5" bubble turned into a loop twist to make the 1st hand.
(16) Now thread the tail end of the 260 through the hole in the geo blossom also. Just squish the 350 leg down inside the hole a little...you will have plenty of room for the arm balloon.

image image

(17) Measure how long you would like the arms on either side, and repeat step 15 for the opposite hand. This is what it will look like when you are finished with this step.

(18) The Eyes: Inflate the white 350 scrap to 3".
(19) Make 2-1.5" pinch twists and tie off. Keep the tail attached for the next step.

image image

(20) Connect the tail of the eyes to the pinch twist on the back of the head...
(21) Then center them on the face.

image image

(22) The pupils: Inflate the black 260 scrap to 3". Make 2-1.5" pinch twists leaving the tail attached.
(23) Connect the pupils around the white eyes and to the pinch twist on the back of the head like you did in the previous step.

image image

(24) Outside of eyes: Put a puff of air into the 2-dark 350s and tie them together. Remove the nozzles as close to the knot as possible. Wedge it from the back of the head bubble and pull it through to front of the head.

image

(25) Position them snuggly on either side of the eyes and tie the ends together. (Remove the air out of the remaining ends)
(26) Tuck the ends from step 25 down behind the eyes and connect to the pinch twist on the back of the head. Remove any remaining ends.

image image

(27) Ears: Inflate the 2nd 260 about half way. Make 2- 1" pinch twists and 2-5" bubbles turned into loop twists. Tie off and remove the remaining balloon. Save the remaining for a future step.
(28) Connect the nozzle from the top of the head to the center pinch twists on the ears. Position the pinch twists on either side of the head.

image image

(29) The Horns: Inflate the 1st 160 about halfway. Measure how long you want the first horn (I made mine about 6") and connect it to the pinch twists in the center of the ears.
(30) Gently wedge the horn into the center of one of the ears and give the tip a little bend to shape it.
(31) Measure the horn for the opposite side, tie off and remove the remaining balloon. Repeat step #30 on the second horn.

(32) Now it's time to make the attachment point for the tail. You can put the raisin (balloon knot) inside the body geo blossom before you inflate it, if it is easier for you...I just always forget so I will add it now ;-) Place the raisin right under where you would like the tail (I put it on the bottom geo bubble as shown to the right). Push the raisin into the bubble and grab the knot through the geo blossom (like you would grab a raisin normally).
(33) Take the remaining balloon from step 27 and tie the raisin in place.

image image

(34) The Tail: Inflate the 3rd 260 leaving about a 4.5" tail. Make a ring of bubbles in the following order: 1" pinch twist, 1.5" bubble, 3" bubble, 1" pinch twist, 3" bubble, 1.5" bubble, 1" pinch twist. Place the pinch twists on either side of the tail and position the remaining bubbles to form a triangle shape.
(35) Measure how long you want the tail (mine is about 4.5") and then make 3-1" pinch twists. Tie off and remove any remaining balloon.

image image

(36) Connect the tail pinch twists to the raisin.
(37) Adjust the pinch twists to hide the raisin. (I position one on the bottom and 2 on top so the tail points upwards).

image image

(38) The Wings: (I believe these were shown in a back issue of Balloon Magic Magazine). Inflate the 2nd 160 leaving about a 3" tail. Stretch well. Make a ring of bubbles in the following order: 1" pinch twist, 4" bubble, 1" pinch twist, 4" bubble, 1" pinch twist, 3" bubble. Connect back to the 1st pinch twist. (This will form a triangle shape).
(39) Form another triangle by making a 3" bubble, 1" pinch twist and 4" bubble. Connect it to the #3 pinch twist.

image image

(40) Make another 4" bubble, 1" pinch twist and 3" bubble and connect it to the #5 pinch twist forming a 3rd triangle. Tie off and remove any remaining balloon.
(41) This is what it will look like when you have finished step 40.

image image

(42) Repeat steps 30-40 to complete the second wing. Connect the wings together by the outer pinch twists. Note that the single pinch twists are on the top of the wings.

image

(43) Connect the wings to the 2-neck pinch twists.
(44) This is how it will look from the side.

And here is your completed Dragon.
