I don't agree with the people that say that you HAVE to go to IBAC to be a 
serious balloon person.  I've been in business for 13 year (10 of which is 
full time) and I've only gone to IBAC 2 times.  I have a family with 2 kids 
and I find it difficult to get away, as it is I'm gone almost every week end. 
I think that you can learn new thing with magazines, networking and local 
classes just as much, if not better then IBAC.  Don't get me wrong if it 
wasn't for the family I would go every year.  But you can't do it all, and 
you shouldn't feel less professional if you don't go to IBAC.
