If so, who made up this rule .......the Hyatt, or IBAC (to help ensure a certain # of rooms)? Gee, I wonder what would happen if a LOT of delegates decided to forgo the learning experience of being on a volunteer crew to help ease their budgets?????? After all, the classes they are attending are the educational focal point, correct? They could delete the cost of the hands on volunteer "class", and spend that time relaxing .......... get in some vacation time ~ resting, sightseeing etc., and save money! Yes, they would possibly lose out on learning a few things, but as it was stated on this forum, "something is better than nothing"! I would think that the Hyatt should be doing all they can to keep IBAC returning, whether or not the delegates have the "expense account" type funds to spend on food etc., or not. Does everyone leave the hotel to eat ALL of their meals & get ALL of their drinks and snacks? For all I know, the planners of IBAC have been bending over backward trying to find another hotel to accomodate the convention that has lower room rates. Is there any communication about these things that filters down to the masses? Just wondering. Michelle Gabel Hearts of Texas Balloons Grand Prairie, TX
