Subject: Aluminum Tubing

I want to recreate the centerpieces used at the final night gala at
IBAC. Where do I go to find aluminum tubing? I have called the local
welding shop, they don't know what I am talking about. I am even unsure
what to ask for. What is the O.D. (outside diameter) and is it described
as thin walled?  Am I searching at the right store/source?
