Hi Jim and Pat:

I have tried for several days to compose this response to your parade float
so I wouldn't give off the wrong impression -- I hope it is read in the
right light.

Each year I enter a float in our local uptown Holiday Parade. It is never as
elaborate and exciting as the ones you create, however they create excitement
and show balloons in a new and fun light! I think you two are very, very
talented and have a great deal of resources within you and your organization
that the average event decorator does not. That does not mean they shouldn't
try. I am sure no balloon artist wants to exhibit work that would be a
disgrace to him/herself /balloon artist community. I think it would be
wonderful if everyone who wants to build a float could build it on a custom
made golf cart with a team of welders, designers, builders, etc, but
unfortunately, that doesn't happen. I think we should encourage fellow
artists to give it a try, even if it is on the back of a flatbed truck! One
year we had confetti that blew out of the top of a Christmas tree with large
presents which opened over and over again releasing balloons each time. The
creativity is out there -- I say GO FOR IT!!!
