Marshall -

It's not a good idea to base your prices on those charged by someone else.
Everyone's business is different - different overheads, different staff
costs, different client bases, different area. If you base what you charge
on someone else's prices, you will still not know if you are right or wrong.
You need to work out the price for you work based on the costs of running
you own business.

The QBN programme has excellent information on pricing - I suggest you look
into following the programme as it will help your business in many ways -
not just in pricing. Failing that, get hold of a back issue of Images
magazine from May/June 1993 which has an invaluable article on how to price
your work - taking you step by step through the process of how to work out
the correct prices for your own business. Or attend a seminar on pricing.

But never, NEVER, use some one else's prices. They just won't apply to you.

Finally, don't worry if your prices are higher than those of another
business in your area. Just ensure that your work is better and you will
prevail.

I'm looking to see if anyone out there can explain to me how much to
charge
for my services (arch, canopy, etc...). I pretty much have been doing it
from
the top of my head not knowing if i'm cheating my self out of money or
cheating the client. Can some one send me a price list that I can look
at.
Reply to me in private or on the board. Thanks again.
