Subject: Re: Shooting star themed pool party

Has anyone used mylar stars to float on the pool's surface? Will the paint
come off or the balloons deteriorate? I've used latex "flower-like"
floaters, but not mylar and wanted to create star clusters. Planned to put
water or sand inside the balloons to keep them from blowing off and gold
onion grass to look like the shooting stars have landed in the pool.

If you've done anything like this and can steer me clear of problems, I'd
appreciate your sharing your technique, design and suggestions.

Basic info: outdoor pool, iron fence (we'll be placing gold mylar stars
randomly around the fence), diving board & slide ( 20' shooting stars of
white & gold latex swirling upward, arching downward and ending with a 36"
gold mylar star over the corners near the diving board and the slide),
poolhouse (tall white & gold latex columns topped by 36" gold mylar stars
with random 9" stars spaced vertically),
vertical house face (client's last name in Fome-Cor letters with lights along
edges
for the evening portion of the party). Other components - tents, food
areas,
centerpieces (gold star topiaries), dance barn (white tulle, lights, gold
stars, gold star drop over dance floor).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
