I spoke with Maxine this morning, she was very cordial and helpful in explaining the reasons for requiring the shipping up front. They apparently -have- been "burned" in the past, and been given bogus orders that were quite large....... it makes sense that they would want payment first before spending the man hours to put together a large order; and to avoid having to spend even more man-hours to re-stock if it were a bogus order. Also the fact that it is a first-time order contributes to the necessity for caution, and I completely understand their reasoning. While a large portion of our sales from our previous business were mail order, they were almost all items that were either singular in nature that we already knew the weight of (cages) or numerous small items that could be sent in a box via USPS, enabling us to calculate shipping fairly accurately before even packing. At any rate, the "problem"(?) has been resolved to everyone's satisfaction, and my order is being shipped tomorrow. ;) I was impressed with their committment to customer service, and am quite happy with the outcome. Thanks to everyone who sent opinions and suggestions; I really appreciate your taking the time to write them. Theresa Jordan Balloons 'N Stuff IN USA
