OK: Here's my 2 cents:
1) Can you tell us if there are any light fixtures?
Look at room, how high, any light fixtures, or chandeliers?
The first thing I would do is re-survey the room
i.e., Room height, what is on the ceiling, are there any pre-existing hooks
or nails in the corner of the ceiling?
What I would attempt to do is:
1) find an anchor nail/whatever on the side of the room
2) see if I could rig some wire/rope/whatever from side of room anchor to
the general area of the hanging area.
3) I would then attempt to see if I can find a access point (perhaps around
the fixture of a recessed light, or
light fixture.
I HAVE (BUT BE VERY VERY CAREFUL) used the edge of a sprinkler as the
"drop" off point for hanging sculptures
however, it was NOT the main support. UNDER NO circumstances, should the
sprinkler edge, or recessed (can light)
edge on the ceiling be used as the MAIN support for this.
4) check with management, and see if THEY know of any rigging points used
in the casino. They may already know.
That's it... good luck

G'day to all,
Can any one tell me how to attach letters to a solid plaster ceiling. I
have to hang $10,000 from the Casino ceiling and I'm not sure how to do it.
Do I use thumb tacks? I felt this may be dangerous if they fall out. The
letters are not very heavy although they are 1metre (approx 3 feet) high,
made out of Corflute. I have to rig this in 36 hours time.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. This is the first attempt at this
for me!
Regards,
Debbie
