Hi Lee,
We normally do the street lamps in all balloons, except for the tops. I
use the glitter netting for sparkle, like you recommended to me, and put
on a balloon "cap" at the top. I use a flame shaped bulb for the light,
but it doesn't flicker.
My favorite way is to use the pearl midnight blue, it gives it an aged
metallic look. Really neat effect. In the fall we used the pearl
midnight blue and spiraled fall leaf garland down them for a wedding. It
was very elegant.
This time I think we'll use black balloons for the top and bottom  and
mardi gras colors for the center pole, just for a change.

bridal show.
