Hi,

Tim McConeghy, Lord of Latex. I would recommend having 10 or so
people handing out balloons from all different locations. I assume this was
already intended from the mention of the route length. Get your staff set up
with fixed positions which in clude a semi-portable stand which can hold the
balloon strings (a stool with one or two of those spring thingies from
conwin). After each person gives out their balloons they can proceed to a
central meeting point to be picked up.
Weights are a good idea, at least tie a loop in the ends so that
part of the string can be pulled through the loop (like a choke chain or
yo-yo string) and placed on someones wrist. I like to tell them that the
balloon will hold their hand. Why not do the 260 or even 350 thing? They can
be hauled in garbage bags, they take up less space while providing a strong
visual effect, they cost less, they don't require helium, and they don't fly
away.
Cupid? How big? A good twister should be able to whip out a few
12" or so for centerpieces. A large scale version could incorporate the swan
wings used in the kissing swan arch, Bruce Waldens distortion for the head,
and a simple body made from garlands. Check the sports contest photos to see
bodies made from garlands, specifically the football guy and cheerleader. A
body done all in peach or pink or something with white tulle or other
material draped across it strategically would be great.
Remember you are the best balloon artist in your socks.
