I had a homebased balloon business in a small town of 4,500 people for 8
years and did a tremendous business. Of course the first year was smaller
than the last, but word-of-mouth is your best advertisement...go out and get
the business! I also did newspaper ads to reinforce my business, had
magnetic signs on my van, placed postcards (from Pioneer) on every bulletin
board in town. Most of my business came from going from business to
business and talking to the guys, showing them 3 or 4 pictures of bouquets,
collecting the money and having them sign their gift card personnally! It
makes it look like they came to you when actually you are doing all the work
for them--and they appreciate it.
This same concept has worked for me the last 4 years that I have been
located in the big city too!
