Congratulations on your project. How big is your Mini-van? Life size? If so you may want to consider mixing larger balloons with the standard #260 and #350 balloons generally used in "twisting" sculptures. Since you said "I want this to be the best figure I have ever twisted." I assume you have "twisting" in mind rather than standard round balloon decorating techniques. You can use some twisted bubble techniques on a larger scale by using Link-O-Loons. The strings of bubbles that you weave can then be made much larger. Use the #350 and #260 or even #160 bubbles for the details. If you are interested in framing the sculpture in a flexible way and still stay with varying sizes of bubbles, we can help you at Rouse International. We can now provide custom frameworks for you to hold bubbles made from #160, #260, #350, 5" rounds, 9" rounds, 9" round foils, 11" rounds, small and large Geos, 14" rounds, 16" rounds, 18" round foils, 20" rounds, 24" rounds 30" rounds, 36" rounds and both the larger and smaller Link-O-Loons. If you will send us photos of the van you have in mind and notes on the scale you have in mind, we will be happy to make specific suggestions. By the way, there will be a meeting of the Carolinas QBN in Charlotte on Monday. If you are interested in attending, it would be a good chance to meet other balloon professionals in the Carolinas and gather up some ideas in person. Drop me a note.
