tried holding them at the base of the neck, and stretching them before

Hi Jo,
Memories, memories. The same thing happened to me the first time I used the
6" size geo blossoms. What are you using to inflate the blossoms? I found
that if I use a hand pump and place all of the neck on the nozzle, rather
than just the beginning of the neck, the balloons filled evenly and did not
pop. In other words, you direct the air directly into the balloon, bypassing
the neck totally. You probably could use a Duplicator 2, if you set the psi
really low so that the balloon inflates slowly.
Hope this helps.
