Subject: scale and porportion
To: balloondeco@balloonhq.com
Hi All,
I have a question about scale and porportion and balance. I have a client
who wants the Cherish Heart and Tulle Canopy over a 24' x 24" dance floor.
I very rarely get the chance to do any civilian decor, so I have never done
this decor.
The venue that the wedding reception is going to be held at will not allow
me to hang anthing on the ceiling that weighs more than 8 lbs, so that nixes
the heart shape sculpture. I talked the client into doing the Illusion
Canopy, but she really has her heart (pun intended) set on the Cherish Heart
& Tulle Canopy.
I have come up with a substitute for the heart; using a 22" straw wreath
that I will cover with ribbon and decorate with two large bows and hang
tissue wedding bells from.
My question is, with a 24' x 24' dance floor, whether the heart or wreath
is used, won't the relation between the columns and tulle be kind of off.
When I visualize it, I see the tulle being a lot longer than the columns (7
feet) and the scale of the columns in relation to the tulle being really
lopsided.
Has anyone done this decor on a dance floor this large? Does it look out
of wack? I visualize that maybe using six or eight columns around the dance
floor would look better, but that would be out of the clients budget.
Thank-you for your replies,
