What about doing a topiary design in 5" latex for each centerpiece in
the gold and cream. You could enhance this design with some ivy, tulle,
and mini lights spiraling through the centerpieces.  This would be
subtle, but elegant (not cutsey or taking focus away from baby).  You
could also incorporate some elegant 18"  christening foils with the use
of  tulle instead of ribbon as either floors or tabletop centerpieces
over the two tables in question.  Hope this helps.
