On page 27 of the July/August 2000 issue of Images are some really wonderful 
Chinese lanterns made with 3' balloons.  Not exactly what you were asking 
about, but these look terrific.  Phillippe Zinner of Ambiance Balloons Decors 
in Reims, France was the designer.
