Subject: Proper Bridal Consultation Quoting ( a little long!:)
To: <balloondeco@balloonhq.com>

Hi all!
Need some feed back on this bridal consultation i did a few weeks ago..want to know if i handled it correctly..
I met with a bride ( niece of a church member) at her site area to go over with her what she wanted...well to make a long story short..her budget was $500...she wanted a canopy over the bride and groom table, a balloon wall at the entrance to give a foyer look to a hall that once you came into the door you were in the reception hall, decor for the cake table, gift table as well as cloud nines ( approx 10) to distinquish the walking area to the head table..along with balloons to mark the entrance to the site and along the fence to the building as well as the back patio deck... (mind you her mother does floral and they have some of the same supplier books we use so she knows the prices of the balloons)
Well we all know your not getting this for that amount...so i told her i would quote her for what she was looking for and then we could talk from there...
I gave her a quote..she came back and said that was not in her budget ( which i knew in the beginning) and could i give her something in her budget..so i broke down some of the items she wanted and gave her some packages below her budget, at her budget and a little over..but still not as high as the orginal quote...
well today she tells me that they have decided to use lattice etc to go with a rose garden look!! so i wished her well and left it at that....
I am feeling a little disappointed but at the same time know that what i was charging was well worth the money given the time it would have taken etc....
Question: was i correct in quoting her the actual cost of what she really wanted ?? or should i have just given her packages in her budget which would not have included all she wanted?? How do you handle this
Thanks!!
Theresa
