Hi Jim,
I called the IRS on this question. I was told that the seminar portion of
the cruise may be deductible if educational expenses are to maintain or
improve skills required in your present job or business, they would not be
deductible if you are gaining skills to enter into a new trade or business.
Educational expenses incurred during vacation or absence from your present
job or business may be deductible if you return to the same kind of work or
business. For more indepth info on this topic call the I.RS., it took
forever to navigate a telephone maze but I finally managed to get a real
live person to talk to.

The deposit due date is approaching quickly (June 15th). At this point only
inside cabins are left. I hope the above info helps and hope to meet you on
the high seas!
