Subject: Rude Hall Managers- Need help
To: Balloondeco@fooledya.com

Hello All-
This seems to be my week. One rude person after another, but today took the
cake.
I was at a banquet hall, in a meeting with a bride, she had colors chosen
and the final decisions made of what she wanted...we were doing the fine
tuning at the point the hall manager came over to us and said to her, "Stop
and see me before you leave... I want to show you our new stuff, we can do
trees with lights. lattice, candelabras and fountains and we have a gal who
can do balloons for a lot cheaper than those ARTIST balloon people."... He
than handed her small photo album of pictures right in front of me and said
"Look at this." In the album were PICS of all the above mentioned items and
some really poorly done string of pearl arches and mis-sized balloon table
tragedies, with little stickers that said $3.50 a table.
I really had to fight the urge to slap the man. I have worked this hall
for years and they are under new management. I have only introduced myself to
the new owner at this point and have never seen this man before. I did not
want to be unprofessional in front of my client and confront him on the
spot... I am just wondering how you guys would handle this. I usually do not
meet clients at the halls...I have them come my office or I go see them since
I keep a file (with photos) on every hall, hotel, banquet room, etc., around
my area, so this type of rudeness was a total shock to me...... I got the
order from the client and she was uneasy as well...... we just kinda grinned
at each other.....but had it been a 1st meeting and with a price shopper
........who knows?
Any ideas on how I should approach, reproach, educate or confront this
guy tactfully and stay professional while inside I deeply want to scream at
him?

 Thanks!
Joyce
