G'Day from Downunder,
I must say that I too have often thought about sending in a message along
the same lines as Melanie's. What has kept me from doing so, is my
experiences over the years as an instructor.

As an instructor, one quickly learns that what seems the most simple concept
or technique to me ..... can be difficult or confusing to another. The old
80/20 rule comes into play. 80% of the class can follow easily ....while 20%
find they need to ask questions. Of that 20%, half are too shy to ask!
We are all created different.

I lack the scientific mind of a Mark Balzer - the attention to detail of
Lindy Bell - the engineering ability of Jim Skistimas - the twisting skills
of Marvin Hardy and the internet knowledge of Larry Moss. But I hope they
always have the patience and understanding to listen to my questions. I
wouldn't be offended if they choose not to answer. But please don't make me
feel or appear an incompetent in front of my peers.

Back to the "problem" with the list and constant requests by some for theme
ideas. Easy! There is no obligation on anyone to reply. A click of the mouse
- and it's trash! Those you feel may be genuine .... help them once or
twice. Encourage them to get creative and point them to sources of
creativity such as Images, B&P magazine, floral mags, events mags, IBAC and
web sites.

In closing, I must say that I agree that some on this list use it as the
easy way out too often. They should not expect the BHQ to their secret
source of instant creativity. So .... let's watch more closely and see if
those in constant need of theming advice begin to actually CONTRIBUTE and
help others in areas of their strengths.
