Jeanie-

This will be my first summer at home with my daughter
as I recently "retired" from my job as an Emergency
Medical Technician-Paramedic to focus on my balloon
business full time!! And oh what fun I am having!!! 

Anyway, I have found over the past 8 months that
working from home full time is a challenge however I
have become displicined and more focused each and
everyday.  

I have two offices one upstairs (my main office) and
one downstairs (a mini one) reason is to be able to
keep an eye on her (my daughter who is 7) at all times
as in my opinion I prefer not to hire a sitter she has
had enough of that over the years and it is so much
fun being home with her.  However we have laid down
rules and she has never had a problem following them. 
When I am on the computer (as we run e-commerce) she
can play or entertain herself quietly near by, when I
am on the phone she MUST respect that and provide
quite time.  I take periodic breaks thru the day to
play and cook and eat with her and she loves to help
with the balloons and is becoming an expert at
inflating (dual split second sizer)and tying balloons
she has even come up with solutions that I was stumped
on.

Also if you are stumped on activities for your
children, get them involved in a sport or hobby, my
daughter plays soccer and has since she was 4 years
old so she will also be attending a soccer camp this
summer as well as taking a cheer and pom class with
her best friend.  

I also agree with the post regarding getting up and
getting ready just as you were going to work at a job
outside the home.  Because believe it or not your
phone customers can see you in that robe and slippers
and your hair all a mess just by how you portray your
confidence and I do not know about others but from my
own personal experience I am always more confident and
feel better about the world when I look my best!
