Hey Joyce-

Chargers are sold in a veriety of places. In the old days plate sizes were
very specific....ie...dessert, bread n' butter, luncheon, dinner, charger.
However, with so much variety now being offered in china and earthenware
design shape and size there really are no more standards and trying to find
someting called a "charger" may be more of a challenge in some parts of the
country. But basically a "charger" is an oversized dinner plate....because
it was the plate you ate your final dinner course on. When the table was
set your salad plate was on your dinner plate which was on a charger and you
would just eat your way down the china stack.

I have the weeding book though not with me at the moment so I am not sure of
the design but today chargers can be found in many places and often in gold
plating. Mostly you find them at the Holidays. This year I saw a set of 4
gold plated chargers at Linens n' Things for only $ 12.99. My knee jerk
reaction was to buy 9,000 sets as I was accoustomed to the old days of
purchasing them individually at places like Williams-Sonoma for $
22.00-28.00 per charger. I've also noticed them at Pic n' Save and
Robinson's May these are all here in California, USA and I am not sure what
you have in PA but you must have some that are compreble. They are usually
found in the Holiday Section. Do you still have that Holiday Decor link on
the web that you sent me last year? Maybe they have them.

Good luck!
