Good morning everyone,
   I am looking for some ideas, but please feel free
to tell me if what I am doing seems inappropriate. 
    Very close friends of ours are suffering through
any parents worst nightmare right now. Their 17 year
old daughter was in a terrible car accident this past
Friday night. This is not a case where a bouquet of
balloons would be helpful. 
    One miracle has already taken place. They were
told that she would not live and everyone said their
good byes. The donor team was waiting, and they were
waiting for her body temperature to elevate to normal
levels so that they could start the removal process.
At that time, they re did the CT Scans and they
detected some brain waves. So far she is holding her
own, but has not regained consciousness. 
    At this point, the miracle they are hoping for is
that she will only be paralyzed from the chest down,
and not the neck. She has suffered multiple, multiple
facial fractures, and they still do not know the
extent of brain damage. 
    I feel at such a loss as to what I can do. We have
already brought food and things like that, but the
sadness is almost unbearable. 
    I read once about someone who had done a "largest
balloon bouquet" for someone who was in the hospital.
They worked with a local radio station and had about
1200 balloons at the end. I was thinking about
something like that, with a card attached to every
balloon with a hand written message for Sara and her
family. Or, does anyone know of a universal symbol for
miracles, faith, hope,or love? Any other suggestions?
I will be checking with the hospital today to see what
kind of limits they have. A balloon tree with peoples
messages was also a thought, though I have know idea
what one would look like or how I would do it. Should
I use mylar or latex? Any advice would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks to all!!!
