From: "Sy, Adelaida (GXS)" <Adelaida.Sy@gxs.ge.com> To: Balloondeco@balloonhq.com Subject: Balloon Store at a School Fair Date: Wed, 20 Sep 2000 05:52:41 -0400 hi guys! it's me again! i would just like to get insights on this one... i was asked by one of the mothers of a school to open up a stall at a school fair which they would be having at the end of november. the idea really made me smile since i just love making balloons (inflating, twisting and others) and seeing smiles on people's faces when they get them. even if i'm just 'new' in this business, i know that i somehow know my stuff but i'm sure there is still A LOT of things to learn. even if the thought of it excites me, there are still some hesitations in me which really makes me think twice of accepting the invitation. take note: this is just an invitation... i have to pay a minimal stall fee for the two days i'll be there. so, guys, i hope you could help me with some of my inquiries regarding this activity before i agree to it. 1. what type of balloons will i have to bring with me? jewel tones? pearl tones? what prints would sell more? will i have to offer helium-inflated balloons or just on sticks? how about microfoil? will i offer microfoil filled with helium too? *** one of my concerns in selling helium filled microfoils... what if the customer suddenly released it into the air. i know it's harmful to the environment that's why i'm a little hesitant in selling them on those days. 2. in case you don't know, school fairs are held on open grounds within the school, so my concern is, won't it be too hot for me to sell balloons on that day? what would be a great precaution or requirement which i have to keep in mind since i'm not sure if i'll be able to get a stall in a shaded area. 3. for those who has done fairs, would it be easy for me to earn the money back which i spent in the stall? basically, will it be a good idea to be part of it? thanks in advance guys for all the help you've been giving me ever since i joined this list! ____________________________________ Ade Sy The Balloon Connection (Not Just Balloons) ballooncnxn@edsamail.com.ph Manila, Philippines "Save A Tree, Buy A Balloon"
