Subject: Space Rockets and Flying Saucers

Hello Everyone,
I need help with a corporate theme party with a space theme.
They want two 6 - 8 foot space rockets as part of their stage
backdrop decor and one 4' wide flying saucer to hover over their
check-in table in the lobby. The centerpieces are already designed along
with other types of decor for the lobby and ceiling decor. I have
thought of constructing the rockets out of foam board in a tubular
shape, covering the foam board with mylar sheeting and then gluing on
mylar rounds. Then finish off the rockets with foam board wings covered
with cracked ice and then doing the corporate name the same way and
attaching the letters vertically down the front of each rocket OR
possibly using a SDS wall and incorporating the rockets into the wall.
I am drawing almost a complete blank on the flying saucer. The hotel has
not yet decided whether they will let us hang it or if we have to put it
up on poles. I would appreciate any and all comments or suggestions.
Thanks.
