Hi Pamela and Luis,

I solved this problem making spider legs one year by twitsting several times 
at the appropriate point of 90* turn, or 45*, or whatever, and adding in a 
good amount of "cool" glue.  Hold until set.  About 2-5 minutes.  It's good 
work for late at night in front of the TV.  You must use cool glue, not the 
multi temp stuff.  It gets too hot.  I have tons of fun with this approach.
