I had an event last week-end which had me worried. It was for a charity
event which was a personal water craft rally..(similar to a car rally
except it is done on water). They required 8 bouquets and an arch. Not
only were all of these going to be outside in the scorching sun, some of
the bouquets were going to be used as markers, sitting on floating
devices in the middle of the lake. I explained to them that I could not
guarantee that the balloons would last under those conditions and they
fully agreed that we can only hope for the best.
I high floated all the balloons on Friday morning, and blew them up and
assembled the bouquets Friday night. (The event was Saturday, noon-5:00)
Much to the delight of everyone, they held up without any problems at
all, in fact, one is still floating beside me in my shop as I write
this.
I received 3 more decorating jobs from this event...but thankfully they
are all indoor jobs.
I am always hesitant when a customer tells me they require the balloons
to be outside and exposed to the elements but all we can do is hope for
the best with no guarantees.
