Is the theme a particular hockey team or hockey in general? If it is a general theme, you can go to your local sports store. Many times, they carry different teams pennants, authentic hockey pucks, etc. If it is a specific or favorite team, go to the school or contact that team. If not, my favorite place to look is on ebay. What treasures you can find!

If your ceiling height would permit it, use 3' latex with a collar of 11" and wedge the pennant underneath. If there are many teams involved, use primary colored latex. These make spectacular centerpieces or room perimeter decor. Buy packages of hockey trading cards and use them as "confetti." Packs of hockey cards also make great give-aways as would authentic licensed hockey pucks, mini team sticks or team pins.

The life-size standups are great to put around the room and next to a sign or place card table. If you really wants to personalize them, enlarge and copy photos of the boy, cut out the faces and apply over the standup's faces. Standups also come in many sizes. The smaller ones can be used for center piece bases or buffet pieces. ACP sells the styrofoam cut outs which only need paint and glitter, and even a photo face.

Nine foot tall or larger sculptures of hockey players are very easy to make, but always have a huge impact. I once used them for dance floor with 18" foil hockey puck SOP arches.
