Calling all Phoenix AZ twisters, and Balloon Decorators.  I signed up for
balloons around the world.  I wanted to take donations, and give it to the
relief effort.  Then I started thinking about the firemen, here in Phx.  I
think it would be neat to organize something for the fire dept.  I'm
thinking like a central place, maybe their training academy where we could
decorate, and twist.  The fireman can bring their kids, and give donations,
all donations would go to where the fire dept. feels best.  I have a brother
who works with FEMA and when he went to Oklahoma City he received medals for
heroic efforts.  He felt bad, because if it was possible, all the firemen
would have gone.   He was just doing his job.  The men that were left behind
in Phx. were feeling bad, as they were not given any credit, for the work
they did.  They had to work allot of overtime to fill in where the other men
would have been.    My brother is preparing to leave with about 70 Phx
firemen for NYC.  I know if it were possible all the dept. would go.  I
think if we do something fun, for them, and give them the opportunity to
donate to their brotherhood of firefighters, and I get media coverage of
them, they may feel like they were able to help.  I can't do this on my own,
as I've been sick, there is no way I could twist for very long.  I'm also
thinking about bringing some fantasy flowers to donate, and red, white, and
blue bows.    Decorators could bring bouquets, or some type of  sculptures.
If anyone thinks this is a good idea, and would be willing to do this , let
me know.  I would like to talk to the fire dept. about this on Monday.   I
will handle contacts, media, etc.  I just need bodies, and talent.
