Subject: Raisingin money vs. "spreading cheer"
To: balloon@balloonhq.com

I think raising money with our skills is perfectly
appropriate and desirable in this time of need.
Twisting for free to "spread cheer" is great, but in
time of national crisis I think asking for donations
is not only acceptable, but a use of our skills that
we seldom get a chance to demonstrate.

I have often used entertainment for emergency
fund-raising activities. Right now I am considering
having a benefit hypnosis show. I hate to sound
mercenary here, but besides the good will, fun, and
money you'll raise, you will also be seen as an ACTIVE
participant in your community. And, although we don't
do it for this reason, the "spillover" effect will be
good for your business in the future.

So go out and do some benefit twisting if you are so
inclined. It's not too early; the iron is hot, so to
speak, and people will be generous and appreciative.

Regards,

Mark Nilsen
