You will not get away from kids until it is exhausted. If you do balloon animals between shows, you may never get your show started because the kids will want just one more balloon. (Though it can be a good way to get a crowd of kids for a show if you ask them to wait until after the show...) My solution is to stuff about 20 balloons into every pocket I've got, well before I start making anything. I do this far from the madding crowd. When I need to exit, I just finish up the balloons from the one pocket I've been most recently working with. Of course, this requires a good supply of pockets, which many clown suits do not have... Robert Herndon P.S.: Where are people getting their balloons these days? I haven't bought any for five years or more, and my freezer is beginning to run low. I used to buy at The Balloon Box, but that was back when a gross of 260Es was $6.00. What do they go for now? The last price I saw for a gross was $13.00. Please include an address or phone number (for the supplier).
