    Without seeing your pump, I can only guess that the anchoring screw is
worn or that the nut has come loose from it's anchoring. If the screw is
worn, take it to a hardware store and they can give (sell) you a new one of
the same size. If the nut has come loose, you can re-anchor it with epoxy. I
like the kind that comes with the resin and hardener in parallel tubes. You
push a plunger, like a hypodermic needle, and it gives you even amounts of
each.
    I know of no reason that the base of a PumpO should not be permanently
attached, I don't think it would interfere with repairs to other parts of
the pump. Unless someone has a reason not to, you could epoxy the base right
to the pump and solve your problem that way. I don't want you to ruin your
pump, so ask around before you do this.
