Subject: Two cute ideas from kids
From: Stacey & Daniel Krulewich <stacey@krulewich.com>
I taught a balloon class today and two of the kids came up with some very
cute ideas for slim jims. The first was a giant snake. Simple, but
adorable. Green balloon, two 5"rounds for eyes and a red uninflated 260
for the tounge.
The second kid made a whirly thingie out of a slim jim and a 16" geo.
Just stuck it on the end of the big balloon. When you spin it and make it
fly like the toy whilrly gigs it's pretty fun. I'm going to try it with a
6" geo and a Bet. spiral. That would be a little more crowd friendly.
Although the big version would be fun for attracting attention.
The class was a lot of fun, although it was a bit difficult due to the
ages of the kids. (6-11 + 3 teen staff members) For those of you who teach
on a regular basis - How do you deal with large differences in age/abilities?
