Subject: what are balloons made of
I have a set of jokes that parallels the "Who wants to be a Millionaire?"
show. I ask where do we get the material to make Balloons? Do we dig it
out of the ground? - Make it out of chemicals in a factory? Grow it on
trees? Well most people go for the chemical answer. And a few actually
remember the rubber tree.
But at a recent conference someone commented that balloons are no longer
made out latex (due he said to the allergies people have to it) and instead
are made of some latex, but mostly plastics (I suppose petro-chemicals).
Someone on this list must know the "truth".
