Health matters aside...
just to clear up how helium does alter the voice. I
believe it is just the fact that the vocal chords are
operating in a helium environment, as you breathe out
and speak, rather than a physiological effect directly
on the vocal chords; the vocal chords vibrate at a
higher frequency because helium is less dense - the
oposite of how it is hard to run through water.
Although not a strictly balloon related matter, we do
get asked about such things by our customers so it
useful to know.
