Working for tips is risky -- some days you may go home empty handed. Now, there are other reasons to work a restaurant other than just the $$$, but money is one of the top two! That's not to say I don't busk (I have, and have made good money at it, and YES, to those who have been asking, the tape Bob Brown *is* going to get done!), but restaurants aren't my favorite place to do so. There are inherent problems in working for just tips, too. Among them is the feeling on the part of the guest that they are obligated to pay for something they didn't really come for (I feel the added entertainment should be provided by the establishment), as well as the competition it creates between you and the servers. These may or may not be legitimate, but the *perception* exists, and I like to avoid it if possible. 2) I only do a few figures that use split ears twists, but they REALLY come in handy when I need 'em! I popped a lot when I first started doing them (I still do!), but you'll learn how to make the ear "soft", which facilitates the splitting. Regards, Mark Nilsen Interested in working restaurants?
