Subject: travel to Twist & Shout

I've had several people write to me asking about transportation from Logan
airport to the Peabody Marriot. I talked to Patty and someone at the limo
company that Patty made arrangements with. The company is North Shore
Airport Limo. While you're welcome to use any cab/limo service you like,
it is recommended you use these folks. They are aware of Twist & Shout,
they know exactly where the Marriot is, and they have a fixed price for the
distance, including tip so there should be no surprise fees thrown on.

Their web site is at http://www.nsalimo.com. It explains all of their
rates. You can use that if you want to make your own plans. But it's
cheaper if we do it as a group. They can fit up to 14 people in a van. If
the van is that full, they'll provide a separate luggage van so you don't
have to worry about holding suitcases on your lap. If you call and ask
about Twist & Shout, they said they'll try to coordinate things for you, so
that there are a few full vans going rather than taking each person
individually, but they asked if at all possible that we provide them with a
list of arrivals as a group. With 11-14 people per van, it comes to $13.25
per person. (If enough people do this, it may come down less than that
but without exact numbers, I couldn't negotiate.)

Here's what I'll do to make this easier for everyone and to save Patty the
hassle of yet another thing since she's been killing herself on all of
this to make sure Twist & Shout goes over well. If you are flying in and
out of Logan and would like to be in a group traveling to the hotel to save
on costs, send me email with your flight times (arrival and departure) at
Logan, number of people in your group, and your flight. I'll compile a
list of people and see if I can pull this off. In fact, to make this real
easy for me, make sure it's in the following format, one item per line.

  Name
  Airline
  Arrival Flight
  Arrival Date/Time
  Departure Flight
  Departure Date/Time

Make sure the subject of your email to me contains "T&S limo".

Get this to me by Friday so I can pull this together. After that, I may
still be able to fit you in, but to make sure they have enough vans
available, we have to make reservations real soon. (If you're going to do
this on your own, they'll still take reservations up to 48 hours before you
need to be picked up, but it may cost you more.)

If you post your response to the mailing list, you will not be placed on
the list I'm making. It must go to me (moss@balloonhq.com). If you give
me information in a different format, it will slow me down. To save time,
I'm automating the collection of messages about this. On Friday I will
notify everyone that submits this information of what I come up with as far
as a schedule. I can't promise anything since I have no idea when people
are arriving. I just thought I'd try to make this all easier for everyone.

If you send me information and you don't hear from me by late Friday or
early Saturday, it means you are not on my list. If you think you should
be on my list and don't hear from, make sure to email me again at that
time. Do not assume that if you sent me a note you were placed on the list
to be picked up. You are only on my list to be picked up if you get
confirmation from me. If I can't coordinate anything reasonable, I'll let
you know so you can still make your own arrangements. In general, it looks
like it will be in the area of $13 per person (each way) if we can pull
this off or about $20 per person if you have to do it on your own.

While writing this up, I heard from Gitsy with information on another
shuttle service that might give us a better price. I can't reach the
person I need to talk to. Hopefully he'll call me back soon. In the mean
time, if you want to send me the above information, I'll still collect it
and see if I can coordinate something.
