Sharon,

The Pump 1, PumpO, and Pogo all work by pushing down on the top of the pump.
You want to stand close and get your weight over the pump. It's a physical
activity and you want to approach it aggressively. The trick is to use your
weight more than your muscles.

If you are shorter than @ 5' 4" it is more difficult to get your weight over
the Pump 1 and the PumpO. Shortness does not stop twisters from using the
Pump 1 and PumpO but they are doing more work than taller clowns.

The Pogo pump can be height adjusted. It doesn't need as much power to push
down but it takes 2 + pumps to fill a 260Q. I think the Pogo is easier to
use if you are on the short side.

You can also take the handle off the Pump T and screw it into a wooden or
plastic base so the Pump T stands by itself and works like a pogo (except no
return spring). This is probably the least expensive perpendicular pump.
Without an upright leg, this 'pump to base' set up is so short that it could
be used by leaning forward from a sitting position. It could also be set on
a sturdy chair or a low table to lean on the pump while standing.

The easiest way to inflate balloons is a battery pump. You just push a
button.

You can see pictures of the pumps at the web store www.tmyers.com Go there
and click on 'Store Index' then click on 'Pumps' then scroll down the page.

See Ya,
